On the backside of your motherboard, on the rear I/O Console, you'll run across two threaded studs in a gilt color, which is where y'all have to connect / fasten the two gilt colored basics connected to the black cable, seen in your picure above. This is the antenna for better WiFi connection.

There a similar solution on my own motherboard, and information technology only took a few seconds to realize, that without the antenna, at that place was hardly any WiFi bespeak at all, despite my router being located but two feet away in the same room with no obstacles in the way. So I would recommend installing the WiFi antenna for better signal reception

On my own motherboard, with onboard WiFi there is in fact an pick in BIOS for enabling or disabling the onboard WiFi (in my example it besides enables and disbales Bluetooth at the aforementioned time), every bit y'all mentioned yourself in a annotate to a higher place.

Although nosotros take diffferent motherboards, it is non incommunicable they'll have some BIOS options in common.
Normally the onboard WiFi is enabled by default, but it is not impossible, that you have to enable it in BIOS in your own state of affairs, although I would strongly suspect that information technology is enabled to brainstorm with.

There is most likely an available driver with the included commuter DVD, or as seen more recently an included driver-USB thumb drive for the motherboard.

You can install the WiFI drivers from the available drivers installation media which was supplied with your motherboard.
Or y'all can, equally suggested above, connect to the internet with an ethernet cable with ionline access, and install the most contempo drivers for the WiFi via Windows Update.
And as another possible option, you tin go the the moherboard support page and downlaod drivers from there, either from someone else's computer, or from your own calculator if you lot are able to connect via an ethernet cable with online access

In one case the drivers are instaslled, posibly after a required restart, an icon should become available in the lower right corner of Windows, close to the clock, and from in that location you tin can select which wireless network to connect to, pretty much the same way you would on a mobile phone, a tablet or a laptop

Connect the PC to your router via ethernet cablevision. Run windows update. That should install the drivers you need for the WiFi stuff to prove up.

Oh, so you lot deceit utilize information technology by itself?

Is in that location similar a on and off switch in the bios or something?

On the backside of your motherboard, on the rear I/O Console, yous'll see two threaded studs in a golden color, which is where you have to connect / fasten the 2 gilt colored nuts connected to the black cable, seen in your picure in a higher place. This is the antenna for better WiFi connexion.

There a similar solution on my own motherboard, and it only took a few seconds to realize, that without the antenna, there was hardly any WiFi point at all, despite my router beingness located just ii feet away in the aforementioned room with no obstacles in the fashion. Usually the onboard WiFi is enabled past default, but it is not impossible, that yous have to enable it in BIOS in your ain situation, although I would strongly doubtable that it is enabled to begin with.

I meant you connect via Ethernet to perform the Windows update But. One time that'south done, you tin can disconnect the Ethernet cable and employ WiFi.

And yes, there's two gold screw terminals on the back side of your motherboard (nigh the audio jacks and USB ports) to spiral the antenna into. You need to apply antennae. If you don't similar that detail setup, yous tin can become out and buy the more than common single "rods" (they're all universal), but y'all need to use something.

And then in theory, i have to connect wifi to my ain cyberspace merely employ the antenna for better reception?

Antennas are used to increase WiFi reception on your device. They're a necessary component. EVERY wireless device has an antenna. (some are just internal and then y'all don't see them, similar mod smartphones).

If y'all're sitting right side by side to your router, you can probably get by without installing the antenna for your mobo, just in that case, yous're better off just being continued via Ethernet anyway.
