And yes, there's two gold screw terminals on the back side of your motherboard (nigh the audio jacks and USB ports) to spiral the antenna into. You need to apply antennae. If you don't similar that detail setup, yous tin can become out and buy the more than common single "rods" (they're all universal), but y'all need to use something.

If y'all're sitting right side by side to your router, you can probably get by without installing the antenna for your mobo, just in that case, yous're better off just being continued via Ethernet anyway.
